Lexi Soukoreff is the Creative Director/Owner of Daub + Design and recently launched, DAUB | ACTIVE. The two apparel lines were born out of a love of colour and pattern, intertwined with the desire for clothing for an active lifestyle. Lexi studied Fine Art at Emily Carr University after completing diplomas in Fashion Merchandising at Blanche MacDonald Centre of Applied Design and in Textile Art at Capilano University. She specialized in surface design techniques, specifically shibori and immersion dyeing. Lexi’s experience in the fashion industry and knowledge of traditional textile practices had helped shaped Daub + Design’s style as it evolves to include design solutions that are respectful of the environment through a carefully monitored dye process and local manufacturing, and reflect the company’s signature aesthetic. “Daub” as a verb, means “to apply colouring material to a surface crudely.” Lexi began Daub + Design as a swimwear collection, garnering national press and participating in Vancouver’s Eco Fashion Week, transitioned to leggings and accessories successfully and has now expanded to active wear, continuing to catch the eye of editors in both the US and Canadian media.
